PS Bandage
The PS Bandage is a flexible intumescent wrap designed to provide fire-stopping seals for service penetrations in fire-rated wall and floor structures. The product is primarily used to protect metal pipes with combustible insulation and cable bundles. Under thermal load, the graphite-based material expands significantly under pressure, filling the penetration cross-section and preventing the passage of fire through the building element. The PS Bandage is reinforced with glass-filament fabric to maintain the structural integrity of the intumescent layer throughout the fire-resistance period. Its flexible design enables efficient application across a range of pipe diameters and configurations. The product is supplied in rolls, enabling easy handling and precise application across various construction environments.
Application:
The PS Bandage is designed to provide fire-stopping seals for service penetrations in fire-rated wall and floor structures. The product is primarily used to protect combustible plastic, multilayered pipes, and metal pipes with combustible insulation, as well as cable bundles.
The application process involves wrapping the bandage around the service in the required number of layers, ensuring it is positioned correctly within the wall or floor.
In the event of a fire, the material expands to seal the opening around the services, effectively blocking the passage of fire.
It is suitable for use in flexible, rigid, and sandwich panel wall supporting structures to ensure the required fire resistance of the building elements.
