SaflexTM Clear

The products in scope are RB11, RB41, RB51, RB61 and RB71, which serve as representatives in this EPD of multiple products, based on the average results of the product group. Saflex interlayers are plasticized polyvinyl butyral (PVB) sheeting produced by Eastman and its affiliates. These interlayers are bonded through heat and pressure to two or more pieces of glazing to produce laminates with impact and glass containment properties. Saflex Clear is our baseline product group. It is a clear monolayer PVB film produced mainly for the exterior (doors, windows, curtain walls and overhead glazing) and interior (partitions, doors, windows, skylights, furniture) architectural market. Specific types within the group are used in automotive applications. Globally, architects and designers rely on Saflex Clear in laminated glass to help meet regional standards for safety glass while protecting people and property. Saflex Clear interlayers are produced in various adhesion levels to meet fabrication requirements. Saflex Clear is available as our conventional R-series formulation in clear form. Saflex Clear comes in a variety of roll lengths and widths. Most common standard roll lengths are 250 and 500 meters. The most common thicknesses are 0.38, 0.76, and 1.52 mm.
